Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry Exhibition at National Army Museum

I’ve just had the following message from Nottingham MAFVA Branch member Steve Cox:

“As volunteer curator for the SRY (Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry) I was invited to the preview evening for the new exhibition which ties in with James Hollands book Brothers in Arms about SRY from D day until the end in NWE. The exhibition at the National Army Museum in London is open to the public from 9th  Dec. 2021 until May 2022.

A Sherman is temporarily on display outside the museum. (N.B. The Sherman will only be there for a short time, probably until 15th Dec.). The exhibition features exhibits from SRY archives and veterans family members”.

Thank you Steve. Sounds like this is worth a visit. Brothers in Arms is available from various booksellers (Prices vary wildly – it’s currently £9.99 from Waterstones)

If you want to build a SRY Sherman in 1/72 scale Google Star Decals for suitable markings.

Whilst on the subject of Sherwood Rangers and Nottingham; you will notice that the MAFVA Nottingham Branch is no longer listed on the MAFVA Branches page. Any MAFVA members in the Nottingham area who are interested in reviving the Nottingham branch are requested to contact Steve Cox: or Graham Holmes:
